Marque selection and color filling for light rays. Cloud render for the background with several layers and blends. Extract tool for both of our hands. Lightning photo with 3 different blend-layers.

Several layers using quick masks for selections; then paintings; then different blending options and layer opacities. Brush and eraser in masking.

The image - bloodied and bruised.
1-2 hours of modifying.

Crawlers v1.0

My first work in Photoshop using layer mask. I had some difficulty using masks initially; and later , I got used to it. I had 3 separate masks, 1. for the whole organism, 2. for the ventral part of the crawler; and 3. for the ground part underneath the crawler.

Lakbay v2.0

I extracted the eagle from a photo found in sxc.hu. I placed lighter against darker paints with Lens Flare effects over her wings and light trails.

I had no idea i can come up with this image until i started placing flares over her wings; instead of painting clouds in her background.
Initially, i painted blue clouds.

Lakbay v1.0

Default brushes were used. At this time, I was too lazy creating my own brushes.
Random brushing strokes for the background on different layers with different blends. Just random... trial and error... shifting and changing layers and blends... I had no idea of coming up with this background until i got one.
Single stroke for the wings... then transformed horizontally.

I saw a similar photo from unrecalled site while surfing. I was not able to download the photo; but i retained a good memory of it in my mind.

Matte painting. Done in 2 hours today, this early morning, May 7, 2008. Done with lot of strokes of different brushes. Done with several layers.

My first digital painting in Adobe Photoshop CS2.

I noticed a photo "Red Sails in the Sunset..." from newspaper Philippine Daily Inquirer - dated April 29, 2008. With red-orange sky over horizon, i knew i can make a similar painting in Photoshop.

I made grunge textures using combinations of different brush preset and modified different properties in size, opacity, wet edges, scattering, airbrush and smoothing. I made several layers with different blending options.
